Each year, JetCo Solutions hosts a wish list drive to collect donations benefitting veterans in the community. Our President,
Jon Tellier, is a combat veteran, and supporting and honoring veterans is near and dear to our organization. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s drive looked a little different. Instead of collecting physical donations, we launched a community initiative and non-profit organization, For the Vets.
Our first initiative was held from November 11 - December 11, 2020. During this time, we collected donations to benefit both the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans located in Marquette, MI.
Results
Thanks to your help, we raised $5,550.00, which has been donated to the Homes!
The donations received went toward unit holiday party costs, as well as fulfilling some of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans’ Christmas Star Gift Tags (individual gifts for veterans at the Home).
These donations support the Homes’ efforts to identify and break down barriers veterans face in employment, education, health care, and quality of life, making Michigan a great place for veterans and their families to call home.
Our Mission
For the Vets' mission is to demonstrate gratitude for retired veterans through community acts of kindness and generosity. How do we do this? By organizing charitable activities and spreading information about veteran businesses ownership and support. Donations made to For the Vets allow communities and individuals to support and demonstrate gratitude for those who served.
A Thank You
We want to extend a sincere thank you to those who have supported our first initiative. With your help, we have been able to make an impact on those who have served our country.
Stay tuned for an upcoming For the Vets initiative in the spring. Please visit https://forthevets.org/ for more information.
