Each year, JetCo Solutions hosts a wish list drive to collect donations benefitting those at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Our President, Jon Tellier, is a combat veteran, and supporting and honoring veterans is near and dear to our hearts. Last year, we received an overwhelming amount of support for our Veterans Wish List Drive initiative and were able to donate 19 huge boxes full of donations, such as body wash and shirts, to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans thanks to the many organizations and businesses that we partnered with.

Though COVID-19 has brought some uncertainty to what the drive looks like this year, we’re proud to announce a brand-new initiative that will help us further benefit veterans in our community.

JetCo Solutions is proud to announce the launch of our new community initiative and non-profit organization, For the Vets.

For the Vets’ mission is to demonstrate gratitude for retired veterans through community acts of kindness and generosity. To achieve this, For the Vets will be organizing charitable activities to support retired veterans, eventually spreading information about veteran business ownership. Though the initiatives right now are focused on giving back to veterans in Michigan, For the Vets’ future goal is to give donations to a variety of organizations throughout the United States.

Initiative Launch: November 11 – December 11, 2020

The first For the Vets charitable activity and initiative launches on Wednesday, November 11 (Veterans Day) and ends on Friday, December 11. During this time, they will be collecting donations to benefit both the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans located in Marquette, MI.

Instead of accepting physical donations from community organizations and businesses this year, we’re limiting contact and have some different ways for you to give back to veterans in the community during this holiday season.

How You Can Help

Our team reached out to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans to see how we could help them this holiday season. Both organizations have extensive wish lists but stated that the veterans most looked forward to the unit holiday parties that are coming up around Christmas time.

We would love to meet both locations’ needs and raise enough donations to cover all the costs for the holiday parties at both locations (there are 16 holiday parties for 16 units). In addition, it’s our goal to fulfill some of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans’ Christmas Star Gift Tags (individual gifts for veterans at the Home), and raise money so that we can buy wish list items in bulk and ship them to the Homes for contactless delivery.
