What’s in store for 2026?

We’re currently tracking what’s going on with the FAR Overhaul. Many changes have already been happened, and we expect to see more major acquisition reforms in 2026. These changes will grant contracting officers more discretion and allow for different approaches for GWACs and IDIQs.

Of course, another major change expected to happen in 2026 is cybersecurity. While 2025 introduced the self-assessments, 2026 will require Level 2 CMMC compliance for most defense contractors by October. Contractors need to begin their compliance implementation soon if they want to stay in the defense sector.

As we wrap up 2025, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made this year and the partnerships we’ve opened and/or strengthened. Resilience and continuous improvement are the foundations of everything we do. 2026 will bring in a lot of new opportunities, from navigating major acquisition reforms to embracing cybersecurity compliance. We’re looking forward to continuing supporting Michigan (and beyond) businesses that are in the GovCon space. Cheers to 2026!
