GovCon 2025: What’s Next?

The biggest trend we saw in 2024 was the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). For Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, President Joe Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which expedited the Department of Defense (DoD) procurement of goods and services to strengthen the defense supply for improvement on its use of AI. There is a rapid advancement for AI in the defense sector to further development on military capacity.

In addition to AI, cybersecurity pushed its way to the front of the compliance pack. The DoD released the final rule of CMMC 2.0 on October 15^th (read more about JetCo’s thoughts on the rule here). The Federal government is set to enforce the Rule in 2025, shaping the future for how companies that want to do business with the government will need to protect CUI.
