Potential for a Federal Government Shutdown
Hello,
With the September 30th deadline for Congress to pass crucial funding bills just days away, the potential for a federal government shutdown is real. Amid this uncertainty, there are a few things that contractors can do to be prepared.
- Review your contracting agency’s guidance to understand their specific plans. The Department of Defense, for instance, has recently issued new guidance.
- Work with your contracting officer to create a plan for contract performance.
- Expect payment delays and other disruptions to performance.
- Closely track any increased costs associated with coping with the shutdown. Depending on your contract type, these should be recoverable.
Our team will continue to monitor the situation and I am available to answer your questions directly at any time.
Sincerely,
Jon Tellier
