Reporting Structure: Reports to the Proposal Team Lead

Employment: Exempt, Full-time

Work Location: Sterling Heights, Grand Rapids, or Remote

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Writing, English, Communications, or related
  • Proven success as a grant writer or similar role
  • Competent project manager who can manage projects simultaneously for multiple external clients
  • Proven ability to conceptualize and write compelling narrative from scratch
  • Critical thinker who gets excited about using information to answer strategic questions
  • Strong customer service mindset with a desire to impress
  • Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional grant writing or related certification
  • Knowledge of public procurement
  • Experience in the consulting industry
  • Working knowledge or proficiency in Salesforce
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience with EOS®(Entrepreneurial Operating System)

Grant Writing and Management

  • Plan, prepare, and write highly competitive and complex grant proposals
  • Manage and maintain proposal writing timelines and project milestones
  • Direct the creation and review of proposal outlines that are used as a key document design and control medium
  • Participate in the development and review of proposal strategies and themes
  • Collect and organize information from various sources, including clients
  • Edit documents and coordinate revisions with multiple stakeholders involved in the submission
  • Build the proposal compliance matrix (when required)
  • Track the fulfillment of all requirements
  • Audit completed proposal sections to ensure requirements are adequately addressed
  • Lead client meetings and participate in other client-facing activities
  • Evaluate client library and support updates
  • Anticipate and communicate potential risks as appropriate on specific business and/or process-related issues relating to proposals
  • Ensure that assigned projects are completed according to specifications, budgets, and timelines
  • Conduct proposal autopsy sessions and provide corrective feedback or action if required
